Amazon announces Christmas cut-off dates aimed at last-minute shoppers

After last-minute Christmas gifts, Shopper can be ordered as late as 22nd of December with one of Australia’s largest online retailers.

Amazon Australia today announced last-chance shopping cut-off dates for hundreds of thousands of products including electronics, apparel, toys and books.

Shoppers in certain metropolitan and regional areas who are Amazon Prime customers will be able to order select items after 22nd of December and receive free delivery.

Non-Prime customers can order as late as 20th of December , and have their delivery arrive in time for the big day, or they can choose a paid shipping option for the earliest available delivery.

Amazon Australia country manager Janet Menzies said the dates were aimed at allowing Australians to “enjoy the magic without the stress” of the holiday season.

“Fast and reliable delivery across a wide selection of products remains the cornerstone of our customer offering and an enduring priority for us,” said Menzies.

We’re investing in our operational network across Australia so customers can rely on fast, seamless and reliable delivery over the holidays and beyond.”

Amazon Australia has brought on an extra 600 seasonal workers to help get customer orders under the tree in time for the holiday season.

The e-commerce giant has extended its returns window for the rest of the year so that most items purchased between 1st of November and 31st of December can be returned until 31st of January 2025.

Cut-off dates apply to shoppers in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Gosford, Melbourne, Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra.

Estimated cut-off dates vary by product, shipping location and Amazon Australia’s network capacity, Expected delivery dates are shown at checkout.

Amazon Prime membership costs $9.90 per month or $79 annually and includes other benefits, including Prime Video.

New members can access a 30-day free trial.
