President’s Counsel Anuja Premarathna, representing former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, informed the court that three of his client’s four main heart arteries are blocked, with heart tissue necrosis and a lung infection also present.
A cardiac specialist presented detailed medical information, revealing that the former President has been living with diabetes for a considerable time, and the combination of necrotic heart tissue and a lung infection has recently been diagnosed.
Counsel Premarathna added, “By mere appearance, one cannot notice that such serious medical conditions exist.”
