The Department of Railways has announced the launch of a new luxury train service, the “Ella Weekend Express,” which will operate between Colombo Fort and Badulla starting A 16th of August.
This initiative comes in response to rising demand from both domestic and international tourists seeking a comfortable and scenic journey to Sri Lanka’s hill country.
The train, featuring 350 seats, will depart Colombo Fort every Saturday at 5:30 AM and is scheduled to reach Badulla by afternoon.
The return service from Badulla will depart every Sunday at 9:00 PM, providing a convenient and appealing weekend travel option for passengers.
