
Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasized the importance of providing high-quality infrastructure and services to tourists, as Sri Lanka gains international recognition as a top tourist destination.
He instructed officials to prioritize this matter and take the necessary actions. These instructions were given during a meeting held today (17th) at the Presidential Secretariat with officials from the Ministry of Tourism.
During the discussion, officials provided the President with an update on the budgetary allocations for the Ministry of Tourism and the ongoing projects funded by these resources.
As the tourism sector continues to grow, Sri Lanka aims to attract three million tourists this year. The discussion also focused on how to utilize these funds to develop the infrastructure necessary to support this ambitious goal.
