
An Etihad Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner scheduled to depart from Melbourne Airport caught fire after its two wheels exploded while traveling at 300 km/h.
The aircraft had approximately 300 passengers onboard, all of whom were safely evacuated without injuries.
Following the incident, three flights at Melbourne Airport were temporarily suspended after 7 pm.
The airport fire department acted swiftly to contain the fire and prevent further damage.
Etihad Airways confirmed the incident was caused by a technical error and apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
The airline emphasized that the safety and comfort of its passengers and staff remain its top priority, with the damaged aircraft now undergoing repairs.
