Air India flight makes emergency landing

An Air India flight made an emergency landing in Thailand on Friday following a bomb threat.

Flight AI 379, en route from Phuket to New Delhi with 156 passengers onboard, turned back and safely landed at Phuket Airport.

Flight tracking data from Flightradar24 showed the aircraft circling over the Andaman Sea before returning to Phuket.

Passengers were evacuated in line with emergency protocols, and authorities conducted a thorough search of the aircraft.

A written bomb threat was discovered onboard, but initial inspections did not find any explosives.

The passenger who found the threat note is being questioned by authorities.

The flight took off at 9.30am local time and was expected to land in New Delhi at 12.40pm.

This incident occurred less than a day after a tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad, where flight AI171 went down, killing at least 290 people.

Victims of the crash included passengers, local residents, and individuals inside a nearby medical hostel struck by the aircraft.
