AI discovers what Makes humans unique

A study by the University of Edinburgh has revealed that AI technology struggles with many tasks that humans can easily perform.

While AI is capable of writing essays, creating art, and holding conversations, it faces challenges in reading analog clocks and understanding dates. The study found that some AI systems take much longer to interpret time and dates compared to humans.

Researchers tested AI with different types of clocks, including those with Roman numerals and those without numbers. The results showed that AI performed poorly in reading time from clocks with hands or Roman numerals.

AI also has weaknesses in understanding calendars, such as recognizing holidays or calculating past and future dates accurately.

The researchers stress that improving AI’s ability to read time and dates is crucial, especially for visually impaired individuals who rely on AI assistance.

The findings will be presented at an AI conference in Singapore on 28th April according to Edinburgh University researcher Rohit Saxena.
