
The Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, met with representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on 30th of January 2025, at the Presidential Secretariat.
During the meeting, ADB officials praised Sri Lanka’s rapidly growing tourism sector.
They outlined planned projects to further develop the industry, including the creation of new tourist zones and increased involvement of government institutions in future initiatives.
The ADB representatives expressed their appreciation for the government’s efforts to enhance tourism and acknowledged the positive progress made under the current policies.
The meeting was attended by several ADB officials, including Ms. Cholpon Mambetova, Country Operations Head, and local tourism leaders from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.
