$400 stipend for Victoria school children

The state government of Victoria has now started providing $400 allowance to families for children’s education expenses.

According to a state budget proposal announced in May, through this system, one school child will be entitled to a savings bonus of $400.

Families who are eligible for this allowance will be notified through an e-mail message and this payment will be made to the children of the qualified government schools as well as the selected children of the non-government schools.

Families have been given the opportunity to decide how to use the $400 allowance for eligible children for the 2025 academic year.

It has been stated that the money obtained from this payment can be used especially for school uniforms, textbooks, educational trips and sports programs.

It is estimated that about 70,000 school students will benefit through this grant, and a family with three school-age children will receive an amount of $1,200.

It is stated that families who expect to use this allowance for textbooks and school uniforms must use the money before 30th June 2025, and the unused money will be automatically credited to the school account of the respective children.
