The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced the suspension of the 24-hour one-day passport service on 5th,6th, and 7th of May due to the Local Government elections.
During these dates, both the normal and one-day passport issuance services will be restricted.
The department stated that this temporary measure is necessary to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Local Government polls.
Applicants are advised to avoid visiting the department for passport services on these days.
Normal passport operations will resume after 7th of May following the conclusion of the election activities.
