
Fifteen Sri Lankan nationals stranded in Meawaddy, Myanmar, are scheduled to be rescued on 6th of May2025.
The rescue mission is being conducted under the direct instructions of Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister, with an official from the Myanmar mission dispatched to Mae Sot, Thailand, today to oversee the operation.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Thailand is providing full logistical support, including flight tickets and local transportation for the individuals being rescued.
The operation has been carefully coordinated through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Thailand, in collaboration with the Governor of Tak Province and Thai Immigration authorities.
