15 Indians deported for immigration violations

Fifteen Indian nationals who entered Sri Lanka on tourist visas have been deported for violating immigration laws.

They were engaged in various activities, including working as carvers and promoting a religious campaign in Jaffna.

The group arrived in Sri Lanka using free tourist visas issued at Katunayake Airport.

Two individuals were arrested for attempting to conduct a religious service claiming to cure diseases, sparking protests from local Hindu organizations.

These two religious priests were deported to Chennai, India, on March 8.

Additionally, eight Indian nationals working as carvers and five others employed in restaurants in Jaffna were arrested and deported via Palaly Airport.
