
More than 1,250 complaints were filed with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) during the first three months of 2025.
The Commission reported receiving a total of 1,267 complaints between 1st of January and 31st of March .
During this period, 24 raids were conducted across the country, leading to the arrest of 20 individuals. Among those arrested were a school principal, a Labour Ministry officer, a field officer, and an Immigration Department official.
Others included a Public Health Inspector, a Development Officer, a Justice Ministry staff member, a Provincial Revenue assessor, and six civilians.
As a result, CIABOC filed 21 court cases against 24 suspects in the first quarter of the year.
