Ten climbers are missing after an avalanche struck Pakistan’s Broad Peak, one of the world’s highest mountains.

Among those reported missing is renowned Nepal-born mountaineer Nirmal Purja, famous for climbing all 14 of the world’s highest peaks in record time.

The climbers were attempting to summit Broad Peak in Pakistan’s Karakoram mountain range when the incident occurred. Rescue teams are working in extremely difficult conditions due to harsh weather and dangerous terrain.
